Hello
Hello! I’m Aarin Nijhawan, the former Chief Executive Director of TechWiseTutors, a non-profit I founded to help seniors connect with family through technology. Inspired by my grandfather’s struggle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, I’m passionate about healthcare and aim to become a doctor. I recently completed a virtual work experience with Brighton and Sussex Medical School, and I’m now launching, a project to teach technology and English to underprivileged youth.
My Story
My journey has been defined by a passion for learning, a dedication to service, and a commitment to making a positive impact. From a young age, I was driven by curiosity, constantly exploring the world around me and asking questions. This innate curiosity led me to watch a video on surgery, igniting my dream of becoming a doctor and fueling my love for science. That passion has continued to grow; I became a top-five contestant in my school’s science fair and went on to compete at the provincial level, experiences that further solidified my dedication to the medical field.

The true turning point for me came with my grandfather’s battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP), a neurological condition that affected his ability to communicate and connect with loved ones. Watching his struggle deeply impacted me and left me with a profound desire to make a difference in the lives of others facing similar challenges. After his passing, I was inspired to establish TechWiseTutors, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping seniors stay connected with their families through technology. This initiative not only marked the beginning of my journey to support those with neurological conditions but also expanded to underprivileged communities worldwide, including long-term care homes.

Through TechWiseTutors, I have gained invaluable skills in empathy, leadership, and critical thinking—skills that continue to shape my mission. Recently, I had the privilege of completing a virtual work experience with Brighton and Sussex Medical School, which deepened my understanding of medicine and affirmed my goal of becoming a doctor. Currently, I am excited to be launching a new project, The World of Edionix, which aims to empower underprivileged youth by teaching them technology and English skills.

Looking forward, I am eager to continue using my experiences and knowledge to create lasting, positive change and to support individuals facing challenges like those my grandfather once faced. This journey is only beginning, and I am excited to see where it leads.
